Chicago Boudoir Day

I'm sitting at my computer after an intense day of photographing boudoir sessions yesterday here in Chicago. I'm overwhelmed with joy and happiness as I cull through the images. My heart is over-flowing with so much love for the ladies that came yesterday and put themselves in one of the most vulnerable photo sessions possible. My face has gone from smiling so big to tears rolling down my cheeks, watching these women go from "shaking with fear" to rocking it out so hard and OWNING their beauty. The progression of confidence that I see from shot number 1 until the last image in each session is astonishing and fills me up like noting else. I can't even describe the feeling I get when you leave your session with a huge smile, tall shoulders and expressions of how much fun you had. Ladies, you're beautiful. Exactly as you are.

We photographed at the Kimpton Burnham Hotel and it was GORGEOUS! The light was just as astonishing as the room itself and made for great photos. I wanted a unique space with a boutique feel to match the kind of photos I try to convey and think it was pretty perfect.

I worked with Christina Artrip for hair and makeup and just adore her and her work. She's so talented and sweet. If you're looking for a makeup artist, check her out!

I am exhausted today, in the best way, but here's a little peek of the hotel and some behind-the-scenes makeup photos. I cannot wait for these women to see their images!

Much love & sunshine,

Courtney
