Liz & Tony - Engaged in Chicago

Liz & Tony booked their wedding with me in the thick of winter, which means cold and grey. We took their original engagement photos back in late February with the intention of taking a few more once the weather warmed up. That finally happened! We met up at Welles Park in Lincoln Square for some hot portraits. And I mean hot! It was so steamy compared to their first session and it even rained for about 3 minutes with no warning. But the light was beautiful, the rain was pretty and it gave us a little rainbow too. Aren't they just stunning?!

Their wedding is just a few short weeks away and I'm so excited for them!

Little Lillian - Lifestyle Newborn

This sweet little lady made her debut on the blog a few posts back in the form of a belly bump. She made made her grand entrance into life-outside-the-belly a few weeks early early and threw us all off a bit but here she is, ready to take on the world, alongside her fur brother Oliver. Congratulations Martha & Josh on your precious, beautiful baby girl! 

Happy 4th of July!

Hello! Just wanted to pop in and say Happy 4th of July week! I spent the weekend before the 4th in Wisconsin visiting family, snuggling my dog, squeezing my nieces and taking photos. It was so relaxing to be out of the city for a long weekend. Never thought I'd say that it was nice to get out of Chicago. Who am I becoming?! When I returned home from Wisconsin in the wee hours of the 4th, I decided I wanted to do something I've never done before: photograph fireworks! In all my years as a photographer, both amateur and pro, I've never done it and I am really wondering why! I had so much fun photographing the Glen Ellyn fireworks, and was so close to the action, that I wish I'd done this sooner. I blew off the dust on my tripod that I rarely use anymore and had a blast playing with shutter speeds and seeing how I could capture this lovely show.
